This project entails the construction of 90 000m² of mixed -use development on a nine hectare site comprising 730 luxury apartments with ten penthouses, and 5 000m² of bespoke retail and hospitality space.
Built over five storeys, the first two and a half floors are basement levels with service tunnels, and the development houses 2 500 underground parking bays and 18 cores and lift lobbies.
The project is estimated at R5 billion and Phase 1 is due for completion by 2021.

This two-phase project sees the construction of a 20-storey, 70 000m² mixed use building with residential and retail components at 5 Benmore street, Benmore Gardens for Lomastep (Pty) Ltd, on portion 1 of erf 226, Benmore Gardens. The two phases, valued at R980 million, will run concurrently.

Fourways Mall, located on the corner of William Nicol Drive and Fourways Boulevard in Fourways has undergone an expansion which has added a further 90 000m² to the existing space, converting the mall into a super-regional shopping centre of 170 000 m² - the largest in South Africa. The redevelopment incorporates the nearby Fourways View Centre, situated on the corner of Witkoppen and Cedar roads, as well as Game, which is sited next to the taxi parking area. The development also encompasses internal road upgrades. All told, the expansion represents an investment of R1.9 billion and measures approximately 100 000m².

Upgrades and renovations to the existing 30-storey Absa Towers Main (situated at 160 Main Street, Braamfontein) sees these premises transformed into a mixed-use building comprising 20 floors of affordable residential units (with a total of 520 units), an entertainment floor complete with coffee shops, restaurants and recreation facilities, and a ground floor offering convenience retail and childcare facilities. Additional amenities include a public park, integrated public transport facilities and ample public parking. Absa will also be leasing back nine floors with 10 000m² of office space in the redeveloped building. The total value of the development stands at R380 million.

This project has three clearly defined parts: the Kariba Dam Spillway Refurbishment; reshaping the Kariba Dam Plunge Pool; and the supervision of all related rehabilitation works and the management of environmental and social safeguards.
MES is involved in reshaping the plunge pool downstream of the dam; a project which will limit scouring and erosion that could potentially undermine the dam foundations.
The project is valued at US$294 million.

Client: Stefanutti Stocks Swaziland
MES is establishing and disestablishing all four cranes involved in the construction of a five-star international hotel and convention centre in Ezulwini, Swaziland (planners are referring to the project as the King Mswati III Hotel and Convention Centre until it is given an official name).
Estimated project value: R1 billion.
